Hourly Pay Rate: $17.50

Summary
Legendary is currently seeking an intern to assist its Corporate Legal department in transactional and litigation matters that are outward facing with the entertainment community, as well as operational matters that are inward facing with Legendary’s business units (e.g., features, television, comics, etc.) and business functions (e.g., finance, accounting, HR, IT, security, etc.). The ideal candidate will be pursuing a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree at an accredited law school, have some transactional experience, and possess a strong interest in the business and legal aspects of the entertainment industry. Interns will work directly with attorneys, paralegals, and assistants within the Company’s legal function, as well as with management and personnel throughout the Company’s business units and functions as matters require. Interns will gain direct, hands-on experience and will receive direct feedback on their work. In addition to working closely with executives and members of the team, interns will have the opportunity to attend guest speaker sessions, networking events, and screenings. This is a paid internship.
Responsibilities
• Analyzing and summarizing contracts related to the development, financing, production, and distribution of motion picture and television content.
• Learning business deals and structures involved in film development, production, licensing, distribution and merchandising.
• Drafting and revising various contracts, such as NDA’s, employment agreements, licensing agreements and ancillary financing agreements.
• Researching rights/obligations and other contractual issues and preparing analyses regarding the same.
• Assisting with management and supervision of adversarial proceedings and regulatory framework.
• Assisting with various special projects, as needed by supervising attorneys.
Experience & Skills
• Must be in at least the second year of a Juris Doctor (JD) program at an accredited law school taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (Spring/Summer) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from law school within the past six (6) months
• Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Strong communication skills and team player mentality
• Some experience drafting and redlining strongly preferred, but not required
• Strong interest in the entertainment industry
