Description Position Title: Production Safety Executive Location: Burbank, CA Reporting To: EVP, Production Summary The Production Safety Executive is responsible for ensuring the safety of all productions at Legendary Entertainment, including compliance with local and international regulations, and proactive risk management. This role oversees a Manager of Production Safety and collaborates with international counterparts, legal partners, and various internal departments to maintain a safe production environment. Responsibilities • Provide strong leadership and manage the Production Safety team, including budgeting, resource allocation, and team development. • Oversee significant accident, incident, event, and emergency investigations to ensure policy consistency and effectiveness. • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations. • Collaborate with internal departments and outside agencies to maintain a safe production environment. • Monitor regulatory changes and provide feedback on legislation impacting production operations. • Communicate safety policies and procedures to all levels of cast, crew, and production staff. • Develop and implement EHS programs and provide training for internal teams and external stakeholders. • Work with international counterparts and legal partners to resolve and anticipate safety issues for on-set productions. • Represent Legendary Entertainment at industry-related meetings and committees. • Lead crisis management efforts, including developing and implementing response policies and procedures. • Maintain up-to-date information on global trends and regulatory requirements for COVID-19 safety protocols. • Advise production executives on changes to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. • Require all productions to submit Risk Assessments for review before all significant activities to include stunts and SPFX and submit them to our broker for approval by the insurance carrier. • Oversee all aspects of aviation related activities and submit the documentation to our aerial broker. • Prepare and present a safety talk at the main production meeting for all department heads and significant people either in person or by zoom for every production at Legendary. • Meet with the appropriate department heads and discuss their responsibilities to safety on the production. • Develop a global network of consultants and advisors that will be utilized on all our productions domestically and abroad. Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience, with at least 5 years in a production environment (media, entertainment, or film preferred). • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience. • Knowledge of local, state, and international safety regulations. • Strong interpersonal and executive presentation skills. • Ability to work independently and reliably under tight deadlines. • Ability to travel frequently to foreign and domestic production locations. • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; advanced degree and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) accreditation are a plus. Desired Characteristics: • Working knowledge of industrial hygiene and environmental regulations. • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Calm under pressure with an ability to identify problems and collaborate on solutions. • Ability to assess and manage risk and prioritize tasks. • Experience collaborating with insurance, claims, and Risk Management executives. • Visionary leader with a passion for developing talent and building a high-performance, diverse, and inclusive culture. The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $125,000 to $300,000, depending on experience. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. Total rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, market demands and indicators, specific and unique skills or training, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
