Job Title: VP, Security and Safety

Location: Burbank, CA


Summary

Legendary Entertainment is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as Vice President of Physical Security and Safety. This role will oversee all aspects of security and safety for our corporate headquarters, executive protection, and work with the security teams assigned to each of our productions. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in risk management, crisis response, and global physical security and safety operations. They will ensure a safe and secure environment for employees, executives while fostering collaboration across departments and adapting to the unique needs of the entertainment industry.

Responsibilities
• Develop and implement comprehensive global travel security protocols for executives, including pre-travel risk assessments, in-transit monitoring, and contingency planning.
• Establish relationships with international security providers and agencies to address region-specific risks effectively.
• Provide real-time guidance and support during domestic and international travel.
• Work with the production teams and production security to evaluate location environments to identify potential risks and develop tailored security strategies.
• Coordinate and oversee security for high-profile corporate events, film premieres, screenings, and media tours.
• Partner with external security providers to ensure effective coverage for domestic and international engagements.
• Implement and monitor event-specific security protocols, addressing real-time needs and emergencies as they arise.
• Lead emergency response planning and crisis communication strategies for natural disasters, workplace incidents, and other emergencies.
• Develop and conduct safety training to ensure organizational readiness.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for crisis situations, collaborating with leadership to implement effective responses.
• Design and enforce security policies for physical safety, workplace protocols, and visitor management, including IIPP and WVPP.
• Collaborate with Cyber and Content Security group, HR, Facilities, and IT to align security strategies with broader organizational goals.

Requirements
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in security leadership, with a strong background in corporate security operations.
• Demonstrated expertise in executive protection, travel security, and international risk management.
• Proven ability to assess and mitigate security risks for events, and corporate operations.
• Strong knowledge of security systems and technologies, including access control and emergency notification tools.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Experience in law enforcement, military, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with global risk management resources is preferred.
• Experience overseeing security for high-profile individuals and events is a plus.
• A hands-on, detail-oriented approach to implementing security initiatives is valued.

The expected annual base salary for this position ranges from $125K and up, depending on experience. This amount does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. Total rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, market demands and indicators, specific and unique skills or training, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The hiring salary range (amount) for this position applies to New York City and California.
