Freelance Director & DP (Reno)

Lemonlight is a premier video production agency. We are on a mission to create high-quality, affordable video content for brands across the country. We are seeking a talented and creative Freelance Director / DP with at least 3 years of experience in commercial, documentary, or narrative video production. You must live in Reno or a reasonable commute from Reno, NV to be considered.

As a key member of our team, you will bring your technical proficiency and creative vision to the table. You will be responsible for managing all on-set operations and serving as the primary cinematographer and camera operator. You should be a confident self-starter who can operate as a one-man-production-band and effectively manage all aspects of production and camera work.

• Focus solely on on-set shooting, with clear definition of desired outcome from our library of 5,000 past video examples
• Flexible scheduling to accommodate your schedule
• Volume shooting with 150 videos per month, providing steady work in most markets

Key responsibilities include:
• Interfacing with clients and managing on-set operations
• Proficient camera operation, including shooting, lighting, and sound recording
• Conducting client and customer interviews for mini-documentary style videos and testimonials
• Sometimes assembling and managing additional crew/support for larger projects
• Being meticulous, technical, organized, and creative
• Passionate about storytelling and visual artistry
• Providing exceptional customer service and strong communication skills

Qualifications & Experience skills:
• At least 3 years of experience as a cinematographer
• Own or have access to lighting equipment, camera, and audio equipment
• Reliable transportation
• Strong communicator with enthusiasm for their craft and exceptional customer service skills
• Working knowledge of the visual arts and production processes
• Ability to be resourceful, adaptable, and solve practical and conceptual problems
