Manager, Production Finance & Accounting Job Details | Lionsgate
Summary of Position
Lionsgate is seeking a Manager for the Alternative TV Production Finance & Accounting group to oversee the production accounting function throughout the production lifecycle. This role will collaborate with Studio divisions, including Production, Corporate Finance, Production Finance, and Treasury, and will support the VP of Television Finance for the Unscripted division.
Responsibilities
• Manage and support production accounting teams, ensuring accurate cost reporting and compliance with studio policies and SOX regulations.
• Act as a key resource for production accountants, providing training and guidance on policies, reporting requirements, and financial workflows.
• Process and post weekly payroll for a small internal team, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
• Prepare and track monthly billbacks to productions.
• Prepare and manage consolidated cash flow for corporate reporting, ensuring timely distribution.
• Reconcile SmartAccounting to the corporate SAP ledger, ensuring monthly alignment between systems.
• Prepare journal entries in SmartAccounting as part of monthly reconciliation to SAP.
• Monitor daily bank balances to identify and flag overdrafts, alerting the VP of Finance as necessary.
• Serve as the primary point person for setting up Smart Accounting and Payroll and managing Cashet access across platforms.
• Set up new accounts in Cashet and provide training and guidance to users; send weekly Excel reports for reconciliation of expenses and import them into SmartAccounting.
• Liaise between production, payroll (EP), and corporate treasury to ensure smooth banking and system operations.
• Review monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables for Corporate Accounting, including reconciling production trial balances, bank reconciliations, and cash flow. Requires understanding of cost reporting, trial balances, and cash flow.
• Support audits and assist with wrapping closed productions.
Qualifications and Skills
• 4 years of Production Accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience with union and non-union production guidelines and direct oversight of show-level Production Accountants.
• Strong knowledge of production insurance, guilds/unions, tax incentives, and audits.
• Proficiency in all EP Smart products and entertainment industry accounting software.
• Proficiency in all aspects of Cashet.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across team
