Summary of Position
Reporting directly to the Manager, FP&A, and working closely with the Sr. Director, FP&A for both TV and Films, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the budgeting and forecasting cycle by preparing variance reporting, and analysis within Lionsgate Canada. This role plays an important part in the preparation of reports, analysis of information, and the communication of results effectively, to enhance and enable decision making by senior management
Responsibilities
• Support the preparation of the financial budget and quarterly forecast model, which includes income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and other selected financial schedules.
• Prepare, compile, and analyze account balances and management reports, compared with budget, forecast, and/or prior year.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to model future revenue, expenses and cash flow.
• Make recommendations to improve process efficiency & effectiveness.
• Develop budget/forecast system testing and integrate budget/forecast load process into existing
• financial models.
• Manage the delivery and air dates schedule.
• Assist with budget & forecast presentation packs.
• Assist with month-end reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate input of actuals across the income statement, balance sheet & cash flow, including reconciliation of data to company ERP system.
• Maintain and update development spend report, by title.
• Manage title card database.
• Provide ad-hoc analytical, project and other support as required.
Qualifications and Skills
• Qualified / QBE Accountant
• Previous experience in an FP&A role with multiple stakeholders
• 3-5 years’ experience in media
• Expert knowledge of MS Excel and strong modelling skills – absolute must.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think outside the box.
• Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner.
• Proven work ethic with utmost integrity.
• Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization.
• Positive attitude, approachable and self-motivated
• Excellent team player with ability to work independently.
