THE JOB
The Connecticut Production Department oversees the execution, management, and administration of production operations for over 400 events annually at Live Nation-operated and third-party venues, including clubs, theaters, amphitheaters, and arenas in the region. Collaborating with the operations, talent management, and finance teams, the department plays a crucial role in liaising with clients, event planners, performing talent, venues, technical and site vendors, labor unions, and other key stakeholders to ensure the success of all events, both front and back of house.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to fast-paced, changing environments while maintaining quality and demonstrating exemplary leadership and teamwork. The candidate will be directly responsible for managing 75+ shows annually, and some travel within the region will be required.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Responsible for all on-stage, backstage, and other technical and site planning details of events.
• Advance and obtain technical information, including venue details, production needs, rider requirements, staging, and event capacity changes.
• Develop and maintain relevant documents, including production and site drawings, on-sale layouts, timelines, schedules, and artist technical riders.
• Advance technical and site planning details for assigned shows/events.
• Produce shows/events in various venue sizes, from clubs and theaters to amphitheaters and arenas.
• Maintain regular communications with all stakeholders.
• Assist in managing technical production (e.g., stage, sound, video, lighting, backline, broadcast, labor crews).
• Assist in managing site operations (e.g., power, heavy equipment, traffic management, crowd control measures, sanitation, permitting, and engineering).
• Assist with budget management and tracking of assigned responsibilities.
• Oversee multiple projects from start to finish, including presence on-site from load-in to load-out.
• Ensure a positive and creative environment for planning teams.
• Facilitate proper interdepartmental communication and organization.
• Follow up on all action points from internal and external meetings.
• Assist in producing event debrief documents, including settlement notes for finance and suggested notes for the following year.
• Regularly liaise with senior directors of production and managing director via weekly meetings, calls, and email communications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
• Production management experience (5+ years)
• Detailed project management and planning experience
• Confident Leader and Decision Maker
• Computer literate in Windows and Apple OS applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, etc.).
• Exceptional organizational and administrative skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Experience in procuring vendors (staging, audio, lighting, video, etc.) and managing staff, services, and budgets
• Ability to work under pressure and make clear, concise decisions, sometimes with limited information
• Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Flexible work and travel schedule (days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays)
• Travel to venues in the region as required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on competent and diplomatic communication with clients, vendors, and artist representatives
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technology, information, resources, and environments
Preferred
• College Degree
• Experience with AutoCAD or Vectorworks
• Health and safety/crowd management training
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Extended and long shifts
• Moderate to loud level or noise possible in work environment.
• The working environment is fast-paced and sometimes stressful.
