This is a Part Time Paid Internship
Program Overview:
The LA Lakers Internship Program is a season long paid internship (approximately September through June) that prepares participants for a future working in sports and entertainment. Interns learn the business of basketball off the court and behind the scenes through department assignments, special events and professional development opportunities.
Position Summary:
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Intern will mirror the day-to-day work of the department as a whole. The Intern will be given real work to assist our attorneys and provide exposure to the various practice areas that we work in. The Intern will support work that runs the gamut including, but not limited to, media, community relations, partnerships, finance, compliance and intellectual property.
Intern Responsibilities:
• Assist with contract analysis, review, and drafting
• Perform legal research on a variety of topics and prepare memos for Legal Department staff
• Attend meetings with Legal Department staff and internal clients
• Assist with compliance and insurance matters as assigned
• Perform administrative duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
• Current Law student
• Strong research and writing skills
• Experience in sports or entertainment law, transactional/corporate practice, intellectual property, data privacy, and/or risk management preferred
This position is not eligible for relocation, housing, or college credit. This position will be based in the office in El Segundo - we would like the Intern to work at least two days/week. This position is not eligible for remote work.
This is a non-exempt role paid at $18/hour.
