Job Title: Director, A/V & Broadcast Engineering
Position Summary:
The Director, A/V & Broadcast Engineering is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all audio and video systems for various events, meetings, and installations, including Miami Marlins home games. Responsibilities include designing, setting up, and maintaining AV systems, overseeing broadcast, production, and post-production technologies, and ensuring technical support for entertainment and related systems at loanDepot park.
Essential Functions:
• Oversee the installation, operation, training, maintenance, service, and repair of AV and broadcast technology
• Coordinate with departments and vendors on AV installations and upgrades
• Develop technical schematics and documentation
• Conduct system maintenance and inspections for optimal performance
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Provide technical support for live events and meetings
• Manage IPTV operations and load marketing/sponsorship content
• Collaborate closely with IT and Ballpark Operations to accomplish AV and broadcasting objectives
• Manage engineering staff and vendor relationships for system maintenance and operations
• Support LED display operations with Daktronics systems
• Oversee live/broadcast production, including camera systems, intercoms, playback, and production equipment
• Manage signal processing, routing, network connectivity, and all broadcast cabling infrastructure
• Oversee sound system support, including amplifiers, speakers, and DJ systems
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Proficiency in AV systems (audio mixers, speakers, projectors, video conferencing)
• Strong understanding of AV protocols and connectivity standards (HDMI, SDI, TCP/IP, RS232)
• Familiarity with AV software/control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX)
• Knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure related to AV systems
• Experience with large LED displays and sound for large venues
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage a large team
• Physical capability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments, including heights and confined spaces
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends as required
