Job Summary:
The Marvel Publishing group works with hundreds of creators to produce Marvel comic books. As such, Marvel's Talent Management Group is tasked with the casting, tracking, scheduling, and marketing of the creators.
This role supports the group through the coordination of Talent-related initiatives, and networking with other Marvel lines of business (LOBs) to create opportunities to promote talent. It is a fast-paced role that relies on relationships, communication, organization, and flexible thinking.
Summary of essential job functions
The Coordinator serves as the point person for internal groups accessing talent. This includes understanding the goals of various businesses within the organization and supporting them through the use of Marvel creators and vice versa. The candidate would be responsible for keeping spreadsheets that track programs, creating agendas for meetings, coordinating marketing efforts between teams, and managing talent-related data.
Responsibilities:
Cross Business Talent Recommendations and Tracking
• Answer Talent requests from Marvel LOBs
• Keep in close communication with Marvel LOBs to assess opportunities for talent marketing
• Make informed talent recommendations to LOBs for their creative needs.
Talent Recruiting and Marketing
• Retrieve, manage, and track data for various Marvel talent.
• Attend Marketing meetings to brainstorm opportunities to spotlight priority talent
• Run several monthly Talent-related ad programs, determining which talent should be featured and coordinating execution with the design team.
• Research opportunities for diverse student and prospective talent outreach.
• Develop ideas for marketing talent through Marvel's spotlight initiatives by leveraging the Digital Media Group and other Marvel LOBs
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 1+ experience with a general understanding of the marketing, promotions, publishing, and/or licensing business
• Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, handling several projects at once
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• An ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs: Office, Word, Excel.
• A working knowledge of Marvel characters and impactful storylines.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to self-start
• Interest in comics publishing preferred
Required Education:
• BA / BS Degree or relevant work experience
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $56,950.00 to $73,700.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
