Studio Assistant Engineer
Just in a brand new, futuristic, newly built, commercial recording studio facility with an A-list clientele
background is looking for an in-house assistant engineer.
Candidates must have interest and understanding of audio engineering, analog consoles, outboard gearand mics as well as commercial studio adequacy & etiquette.
Also while this position is for anyone with a passion to be a recording engineer it's also a fantastic
entry-level position for anyone who wants to work in the recording industry.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to track vocal & instrumental styles quickly, while editing
• Must be in the Tri-state area
• Must be flexible with availability
• Must be able to mix a variety of styles of music at a professional, radio ready level
• Must generally be on call to ensure a session runs smoothly
• Must have a thorough understanding of signal flow, mic functionality and placement
• Must be able to multi-task, work independently and prioritize in order to run a successful session
• Must be a self-starter, take initiative, demonstrate flexibility and possess a strong work ethic as well as
great people skills.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Must be highly computer literate-Pro Tools specifically
JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
• Session setup and break down
• Maintain vital session logs
• Computer troubleshooting
• Computer session editing / tuning / premixing / ...
• Assisting engineers
• Handle patch bays / recall / backups
• General studio maintenance
• Gear repair
• Setting up microphones
• Fixing and running cables
EXPERIENCE:
• Professional studio employment or freelance work in professional & commercial recording studios.
• Broad knowledge of instruments and their preparation
• Problem Solving
EDUCATION:
• College graduate
• Engineering degree
