This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Position Overview
The Jr. Sales Associate Internship will provide support to the Ticket Sales & Service departments during the off season. The internship is focused on educating future sports business professionals on the skills required to succeed in the revenue generating side of the sports business. Through consistent training and development with members of the Bucks leadership team, Sales Associates will develop a sales pitch in which they are confident in and is centered around their personality. The internship includes the various responsibilities listed below as well as getting exposure to how the Sales and Service department operates. Work with the sales team to help achieve the departments goals and gain valuable exposure and experience that will help you upon graduation.
The Summer Sales internship is a paid position and comes with access to discounted housing programs located close to the office and the heart of downtown Milwaukee – Perfect for those who are looking to take advantage of all that summers in Milwaukee has to offer!
Responsibilities
• Sell a full menu of ticket products for the Milwaukee Bucks, including, but not limited to full and partial season ticket packages, group tickets, and hospitality packages
• Make cold calls from lists of area companies provided to sell full and partial season ticket packages and group tickets
• Conduct prospecting research and data gathering from Bucks fans to help grow memberships among Season Ticket & Premium Sales departments
• Contact past customers in order to generate new ticket sales
• Cordially and effectively handle incoming sales calls from prospective clients for all ticket sales products
• Conduct in-arena appointments and tours of Fiserv Forum to assist in closing new business and developing new relationships
• Assist Ticket Sales coordinators with various sales/service projects
• Assist with prospecting and lead development
• Work with ticket sales department to execute sales events for new as well as current members
• Represent the Bucks at summer festivals and events in Milwaukee as needed
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a college or university and must be an upcoming junior or senior as of Summer 2019
• Must be looking for experience within the sales department of a professional sports franchise
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of an organization
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
• Extremely coachable and eager to learn every day
• Highly motivated individuals with a strong desire to build a career in the sports business
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as needed
• Previous sports experience a plus
