Job Title: Facilities Manager

Position Summary/Objective:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance required to operate, maintain, and service the Mayo Clinic Square Facility and the Target Center Locker Rooms and other operating team spaces for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. This includes but is not limited to planning, monitoring, delegating, and managing of events from start to finish, and general building and department needs. The Facility Manager will also coordinate with Target Center around making sure on game days that the court area and concourses are set properly for our games and/or events. This position will also work closely with Target Center staff to ensure Broadcast trucks are able to park in a timely manner in accordance with NBA regulations for all games.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions:
1. Partner with the VP of Technology in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures and personnel policies for both the Mayo space and Target Center space.
2. Oversee facility operational preparations and tasks leading up to event, during event, and post event.
3. Inspect the completion of all assigned tasks to guarantee all specifications and requests are met.
4. Ensure all Mayo Clinic Square Facility and Target Center space equipment is maintenance and repairs are up to date and within required specifications.
5. Maintain open and fluid communications between business staff, basketball operations, Target Center staff, building management staff, contractors, and clients as it relates to facility, event, practice, and meeting requests; in addition to providing timely information when necessary.
6. Supervise department employees, including hiring, training, evaluation, mentoring, guidance, corrective action plans, and termination.
7. Responsible for inventory management of all equipment as it pertains to the Facility and Target Center.
8. Assist in event setup at both Mayo Clinic Square Facility and Target Center as necessary.
9. Manage vendor relationships as required to successfully run both Mayo Clinic Square Facility space and Target Center spaces. This includes but is not limited to Marsden for janitorial services, Parsons for electrical and data needs, Johnson Controls for HVAC, etc.
10. Develop and maintain a Facilities Operations Manual with up to date as builts, up to date vendor lists, and up to date policies and procedures.
11. Coordinate with Target Center and broadcast trucks for game day parking in accordance with NBA regulations.
12. Facilitate issuing game day credentials for broadcast truck crews with Target Center Security for arena access.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:
1. Knowledge of operational practices and procedures related to events, building space setup and conversions. Typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining facility equipment. Proper use and care of general hand and power tools. Proper use, maintenance, and storage of paints and solvents. Proper storage and care of pool chemicals.
2. Understand and work from general instructions, specifications, blueprints, sketches, event documents, and preventative maintenance schedules.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels.
4. Exceptional communication skills – both written and oral.
5. Ability to work efficiently and multi-task in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions and demanding deadlines.
6. Ability to adapt and make sound decisions due to last minute requests and changes.
7. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
8. Detail oriented with excellent multitasking and time management skills.
9. Prior experience with stadium infrastructure and game day operations preferred.
10. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
11. Flexible work schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
12. Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years facility management or related field experience required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business, or related field required.

Work Environment
This job splits duties within a professional office environment and within a sports arena. Office hours may vary on a day to day basis which may include some evenings, weekends and holidays. In addition to working office hours staff may work external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. Office work is generally sedentary in nature. Office work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes ascending and descending bleachers/steps, walking on a catwalk over arena floor (100 feet up), and crawling into tight and dimly lit spaces (under bleachers/risers) to troubleshoot issues. In the sports arena the work conditions may sometimes be dirty from prior events in the arena (sticky and dirty floors).
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, or crawl. The employee may frequently remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the building both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Travel
Position may require travel to external events.
