The Director, Corporate Communications is responsible for managing several communications assets for internal and external distribution and building media relationships across a wide variety of beats and issue areas.

Responsibilities:
• Garner consistent coverage from reporters and publications covering sports (locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally), business, technology, media, community relations, government and metro D.C. This requires creativity and daily pitching to reporters on new ideas and angles and remaining proactive.
• Responsible for proactive media placements on Monumental Sports & Entertainment, Capital One Arena, and its Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
• Manage and update corporate communications press list, pitch stories to journalists for coverage, and assist in the drafting of corporate press releases.
• Distribute daily press clips for the Executive Team and monitor for breaking news stories of impact to the company for real-time distribution.
• Maintain weekly comms report across all communications and marketing team activities distributed to senior executives in the organization.
• Craft the weekly All-Staff email on updates and activities throughout the organization.
• Handle logistics for any conferences or award events where MSE staff would be in attendance (confirming table purchases, filling out the logistics, etc.)
• Develop and maintain Monumental Sports & Entertainment's editorial calendar for the Corporate Communications department.
• Provide research and analysis on communications projects and reports, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 7 years communications work experience.
• Project management and planning skills.
• Attention to detail and strong follow-through.
• Background in pitching reporters and creating communications collateral materials (press releases, talking points, fact sheets, etc.).
• Direct experience in sports media and/or the Washington D.C. media market is recommended.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Pay Range: $110-125k USD.
