The Counsel will assist the Executive Vice President & General Counsel and other members of the Office of the General Counsel with legal and compliance matters associated with MSE and its family of professional sports teams, venues, media properties, and more. This role will perform a variety of legal activities to protect the reputation and business interests of the organization and its teams, with a particular focus on corporate transactions and matters related to corporate governance and corporate finance as well as commercial transactions.

Responsibilities:
• Manage corporate transactions matters, including ownership transactions, financing transactions, and other corporate matters.
• Manage corporate governance issues, including oversight of corporate records and entity formation related documents and matters.
• Review, prepare, and negotiate commercial contracts, amendments, and extensions, flagging issues as needed.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis and advice on issues across MSE's activities.
• Support the monitoring and maintenance of MSE's intellectual property portfolio.
• Ensure consistent compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and league rules.
• Assist with project management.
• Assist with creation and implementation of corporate policies across all MSE activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• JD degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to DC bar or willingness to acquire admission. 3-5 years of legal experience is desired.
• Experience in a corporate law firm department is desired.
• Strong organizational and project management skills vital to support and advise internal clients and ensure projects are completed in a timely and effective manner.
• Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, consistently learning to advise on new or changing areas of the law and deliver on time-sensitive requests.
• Ability to build positive relationships and apply strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal departments and other organizations.
• Detailed transactional contract drafting experience.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Pay Range: $150-175k USD.

$150,000.00 - 175,000.00 per year
