Mosesian Center for the Arts, located at the Arsenal on the Charles in Watertown, is currently seeking dedicated and skilled Sound/Light Technicians to join our team! This position will involve operating sound and/or light boards during theatrical performances on a part-time basis, ensuring exceptional experiences for all of our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, strong technical abilities, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Responsibilities:
Execute cues and transitions on sound and/or light boards during rehearsals and performances according to production requirements.
Assist with the setup of sound and lighting equipment, ensuring smooth operation during productions.
Work closely with directors/stage managers/etc. to fulfill the technical needs of each production.
Qualifications:
Previous experience operating sound and/or light boards in a theatrical setting preferred.
Strong communicator with ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members.
Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Familiarity with theater production processes and terminology.
Flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements and schedules.
Availability to work part-time hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move equipment for extended periods.
Capability to lift and carry heavy sound and lighting equipment.
Proficiency in operating technical equipment and making precise adjustments.
Agility to navigate theater spaces and access technical areas.
