Who are we hiring?
The Creative Director is a hands-on creative leader, guiding interdisciplinary teams through research, ideation, design, content strategy, pitching, and production to deliver compelling experiences and content for Sphere.The Art-based Creative Director maintains a strategic lens, skillfully and eloquently collaborating across multiple internal and external stakeholders to push the Design & Art Direction of Experiences on Sphere. As a part of the Creative & Design Services team, you'll be a key contributor to the ideation, design and art direction of breakthrough ideas that help define what Sphere is and what it can become. You'll collaborate with Experience Designers, Writers, Motion Graphic Artists, Technologists, Content Strategists and other Storytellers on concepts, innovation, creative strategy, and pitches for Sphere. The role spans across our creative output including an ongoing content library of art and promotional content as well as brand moments for the Exosphere, the exterior LED surface running up to 18 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Art content is how we promote our brand, creating innovative experiences and programming, designed to create high engagement, viral moments and attract other collaborators and creators.
Brand experiences enable us to collaborate with the world's top brands to explore and create new forms of artful storytelling, amplifying brand moments both on-ground and on social.
We are looking for an Art & Design based Creative Director, a proven leader with exemplary aesthetic, design and storytelling skills that thrive on the challenge of creating dynamic content for new formats. You have a diverse range of stylistic, conceptual and strategic approaches to art, design and storytelling, able to pivot and collaborate with executive leadership to create compelling ideas that amplify Sphere's global presence.
What will you do?
• Execute and direct digital content creation for the Exosphere. Demonstrated experience in CG content design processes and pipelines a must. Experience in Real-Time and/or Live Action a plus.
• Help direct and curate the overall programming of the Exosphere, develop content strategy and run of shows.
• Lead internal brainstorms on assigned projects, collaborate cross-functionally with other creative/technical product stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams from conception to execution.
• Ideate and direct content that ranges in complexity and concepts – from ambient to playful social activations to ground-breaking innovations that define and evolve what is possible on the Sphere/Exosphere.
• Understand, leverage and have your pulse on market trends, pop culture, global events, sports etc. to create universal impact through experiential design and brand moments.
• Work closely with creative executive leadership to elevate the team's creative output and establish a high bar for excellence.
• Build, lead, and mentor a team of exceptionally talented Designers, Art Directors and Writersto develop industry defining concepts and executions.
What do you need to succeed?
• 10 years of director experiencein a creative studio or agency, developing innovative and engaging experiential concepts across digital and physical platforms.
• Demonstrated creative and design excellence in your portfolio with a proven track record in creating iconic brand campaigns and content for experiential activations at scale, live events, immersive experiences, and digital content creation
• Demonstrated ability in design and art direction, written communication and presentation, able to lead internal pitches and front clients
• Advanced proficiency in relevant design software (ex. Microsoft PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote, After Effects, Premiere, and/or 3D software etc.)Unreal knowledge a plus
