Event Security Officer

This is a Part Time Job


As a Security Officer supporting the MSG Company and Beacon Theatre, your primary role is to assist the Security Department in the enforcement of all Company and Theatre policies in order to create a safe, secure and friendly environment for all guests and employees. Serving on an event driven basis, the availability to work night, weekend and holiday hours is crucial and of a high priority. As a Security Officer, you will be provided the opportunity to learn and develop your skills, all while working in an enjoyable, fast-paced environment.

What will you do?
• Will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Beacon Theatre Security department during live entertainment and family show events, load-ins/loadouts and during normal business hours, as needed.
• Ensure protection of facilities, properties, employees and guests of the Beacon Theatre along with conducting building tours, monitor CCTV and alarm systems and controlling building access.
• Will be responsible for checking bags and screening guests/employees to ensure overall safety, in accordance with industry best practices and established Company standards.
• Will serve as a security escort and respond to security assistance calls during performances and operating hours.
• Responsible for crowd control and management for the exterior and interior of the theatre in addition to preventing sale of all unauthorized merchandise and tickets in and around the venue.
• Interact with guests and establish best in class guest experiences.

What do you need to succeed?
• The ideal candidate must have a valid NY State Security License along with 3 years Security experience working in large venue environment, law enforcement or applicable government agencies.
• Must have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
• Must possess excellent writing skills and demonstrated ability to operate technical, software-based incident management systems.
• Will have the ability to enforce departmental policies and procedures with fairness and consistency.

Special Requirements
• Must be able and willing to work in various environmental conditions, such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat.
• Must be able to ascend and descend multiple stair flights and be able to move for at least 4 consecutive hours.
• Able to walk and stand during the entire shift.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
