The Manager of Accounting Venue Operations will be responsible for all accounting aspects of MSG’s Arenas, theatres, and Sphere.
What will you do?
• Manage the accounting for venue operations for MSG Arenas, Theatres, Sphere, Day of Game, and union/part-time labor. This includes recording monthly accruals, reclassification entries, analysis and monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet.
• Responsible for the monthly sales and use tax payment and quarterly filings for MSG Arena and Sphere and assist the Director, Venue Operations with other tax matters across various jurisdictions (IL/NV/NY).
• Supervise and oversee two senior accountants including the review of day-to-day responsibilities, reviewing and posting of monthly journal entries, and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Provide timely internal and external financial audit and tax audit support.
• Provide support to Financial Reporting Group for quarterly and year end disclosure requirements for the Forms 10-Q and 10-K as it relates to venue operation transactions.
• Special projects including but not limited to IT system testing and ad hoc information requests/analysis
What do you need to succeed?
• 5 years’ experience and a Bachelor’s degree required (in Finance/Accounting preferred), CPA strongly preferred.
• Must have strong Excel, financial and analytical skills.
• High Energy and Commitment – must display a positive, confident, and assertive attitude and be accountable for all tasks/responsibilities assigned.
• Proactive leader who can efficiently identify issues, research/troubleshoot, and propose appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
• Ability to manage time effectively, work independently and in a team setting, and consistently strive to deliver quality work.
• Must be a change agent and drive business & operational changes as current processes are reviewed for efficiencies.

$83,000 — $145,000 USD
