Who are we hiring?

Sphere Studios is looking for a Digital Archivist to join our team based in Burbank. This role is in support of the Digital Media Asset Library and Archive of Sphere Studios. The Digital Archivist will be responsible for organizing, cataloging, and describing an assortment of large scale and born-digital media files.

What will you do?
• Organize, catalogue, and manage Sphere studio's media assets and assist with the migration of assets to our partner-facing platform.
• Work closely with technology and studio support teams to catalogue a large number of born-digital materials in a variety of file formats.
• Ensure long term accessibility of Sphere media by capturing and entering metadata and keywords into our media asset management system. Maintain integrity and quality control of asset metadata.
• Assist in developing the vocabulary for file content and keyword tagging, apply consistent naming conventions, descriptions and file structures.
• Ensure all filenames and entries are error free and meet our archival standards.
• Perform other archival duties as assigned or requested.

What do you need to succeed?
• The ideal candidate will have experience working with a digital media archive, preferably within a large film/tv/streaming content studio
• Strong familiarity with digital archives best practices and standards
• Master of Library and Information Science degree is a plus
• Must be a team player and work well under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of various camera formats, production and post-production codecs, technical specifications and metadata systems
• Ideal candidates are excited to be hands-on with video and audio content, supporting our team with a high volume of work.
