This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
DESCRIPTION: (Feb-Apr 2025)
We are looking for a resourceful, dynamic self-starter to mentor. The perfect candidate should be a cinephile that loves watching films -- world cinema, indie films, classic films, blockbusters,...and able to articulate their viewpoints about the films. Non-paid on-site intern/mentorship will be mentored in the acquisition, distribution, post-production and/or marketing process of independent films. The right candidate will gain invaluable, hands-on experience in the international film business as well as domestic digital distribution. And your moviegoing hobby can be partially reimbursed by the company. This is not a writing/reading position or production position; however writing skill, editing skill, and social media skill will be helpful in this position. It's hands-on of all aspects of film distribution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with research, analysis and review of independent films
• May interact with producers to qualify and collect information on potential projects
• Assist with social media marketing campaigns
• Assist with international and domestic film distribution
• Assist with editing and post-production of media content and delivery process
• Assist with film markets and sales package preparation
• Additional tasks and ad hoc projects to be determined
QUALIFICATIONS:
• College major in film, media, marketing, communications, or related field with good research skills
• Passion for films and high literacy in film elements, film history, artists and various genres of independent films
• Articulating and charismatic interpersonal communication in writing, in person and on the phone
• Personable, professional demeanor, ethical and able to handle confidential matters
• Attention to detail (prequalifier: read this listing closely and write a professional cover letter)
• Common sense and some basic software skills (Word, Excel, FinalCutPro, etc.)
Film major preferred but not required. This is a non-paid internship. Please consider commute time and your ability to commit to the full term of internship (just like any other important things in life). This is an on-site internship. No long distance commuter will be considered.
Candidate should be a college student (junior and above); must be available 2-3 days a week (16-24 hrs). Flexible schedule to accommodate academic schedules; Candidate selected may arrange academic credit from the appropriate departments. Internship can be tailored to fulfill academic requirements. We will provide referral and letter of recommendation for job placements for excellent interns.
