About: Mythical Entertainment is an Internet-first entertainment production company headed by comedy stars Rhett & Link. Its four YouTube channels have over 25 million subscribers and 7 billion lifetime views, and its social following on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook numbers more than 8 million. Rhett & Link host the Internet's most popular daily show, Good Mythical Morning, among other shows and podcasts. In January 2020, Mythical launched the Mythical Kitchen YouTube channel where Mythical Chef Josh Scherer and team cook up innovative and hilarious culinary creations.
Position Overview: Mythical is expanding its slate of programming and seeks a talented and creative-minded Editor to join the Short Form Department. This editor will work closely with the Producer, Library Content, and Producer, Vertical Content to edit & optimize content from Good Mythical Morning content for distribution on social media platforms (with a focus on Facebook, Snapchat, and TikTok.)
Responsibilities:
Experiment with editing different versions of projects, exploring multiple directions if needed
Work with the Graphics team in order to properly insert and resize all graphic elements
Track and manage the status of various edits at once, while continually prioritizing upcoming release schedules and review times
Work with various members of the post team to locate and obtain assets for past releases
Attend and participate in weekly Short Form creative meetings with the VP of Digital Content & Director, Short Form Content
Maintain a consistent understanding of Mythical content offerings in order to best pitch content slates
Source and create opportunities for efficiency in all areas of the post-production process
Export, QC, and deliver final files for upload
Requirements:
1-2 years experience editing comedy forward unscripted content
(Experience editing vertical video a plus!)
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder; After Effects experience a major plus
In-depth understanding of the pre-production, production, and post-production processes
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining highly organized and detail-oriented
Excellent work ethic, time management skills, and a positive, can-do attitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills
