Job Title: Investigative Producer

Position Summary:
NBC News is looking for an experienced producer for its Investigative Unit. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing original, impactful investigative reports and enterprise stories for broadcast and digital platforms. They must excel at quick-turn reporting, long-form investigations, and breaking news, working collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Produce content for a range of shows, platforms, and formats, including field and package producing
• Conceive, research, and pitch day-of-air segments, original stories, and long-form investigative series
• Independently shoot, write, and produce stories and segments
• Stay current on news events and identify investigative angles
• Build and maintain strong sources in government, industry, and other areas
• Collaborate with correspondents, reporters, and producers across NBC News platforms
• Collect, analyze, and present data for investigative reports
• Work on flash investigations, enterprise reporting, and breaking news stories
Qualifications & Skills:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in investigative reporting or enterprise producing
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or relevant field (or equivalent experience)
• Must have experience in producing, researching, and writing stories; shooting and editing is a plus
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Able to work flexible hours, including during breaking news situations
• Must be based in NYC and work hybrid, contributing from the office at least three days a week

• Track record of award-winning investigative reporting
• Strong multitasking skills, able to handle multiple stories at once
• A collaborative and flexible approach to working with teams
• Strong writing, storytelling, and editorial skills
• Experience with big data, FOIA, and document analysis for investigative stories
