Role Summary:
NBCU Local is seeking a bilingual Social Media Associate to join the central Audience Development team. This position will focus on growing and engaging audiences across NBCU’s owned television stations, Telemundo stations, Regional Sports Networks, and their related social media platforms. Reporting to the Senior Audience Growth Manager, the Social Media Associate will collaborate with editorial teams to understand which content and features attract and engage audiences and execute social strategies to drive growth.
Responsibilities:
• Post editorial content to stations’ social media platforms to meet audience goals.
• Report pacing metrics weekly, monthly, and around key initiatives with support from the Sr. Audience Growth Editor.
• Provide social media guidance to markets and suggest additional growth opportunities.
• Support sponsored content or promotional initiatives as needed.
• Assist Telemundo markets in maintaining their social video strategy.
• Help optimize YouTube channels and support setup.
• Maintain social media calendar and original content posting for Clear The Shelters branded social handles, driving growth and engagement suggestions.
• Assist the Sr. Audience Development Editor with partner pitching and communicate trends that can inform social partnership strategies.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience producing social content or working in a newsroom with social media responsibilities.
• Fluent in the culture of social media and online communities (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook).
• Strong understanding of data analysis and ability to provide informed feedback on content performance.
• Excellent news judgment.
• Fluent writing skills in both English and Spanish.
