NBCUniversal’s KXAS is seeking a highly motivated and driven News Reporter to join its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In this role, you will gather, investigate, and report breaking news, delivering compelling content across multiple platforms, including on-air, online, and streaming.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for investigative journalism and experience covering law enforcement, with a proven ability to build strong sources within the community. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a breaking news environment, excels under tight deadlines, and consistently pitches unique and impactful enterprise stories.

Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of television reporting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Proven track record of live reporting and strong storytelling skillset
• Proven experience working on investigative stories
• Experience building deep sources in community
• The ability to collaborate across broader newsroom
• Excellent writing skillset
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Experience contributing to non-linear platforms
• Must be able to handle intense deadline pressure
• Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news
Desired Characteristics
• Bilingual in English & Spanish reading, speaking, and writing
• General assignment reporting skills preferred
• Ability to enterprise stories
• Experience with digital editing and photography a plus
• Experience working simultaneously on web products
• Strong knowledge of social networking in relygard to content gathering and distribution
Eligibility Requirements
• Must be willing to work in Fort Worth, TX, just south of DFW airport
• Must submit a video/reel/demo of work to be considered
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be 18 years or greater
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be able to work long hours and a variety of shifts, when necessary
• Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program
