Role Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Intellectual Property is part of the IP Analysis & Insights Group, advising NBCUniversal divisions globally on intellectual property issues and rights management throughout all phases of business operations.
Job Duties:
• Identify and enhance intellectual property opportunities, contributing to global strategies
• Review and interpret agreements related to development, production, and distribution, including rights acquisition, remake/sequel rights, live events, and merchandising
• Analyze IP issues related to new media and streaming, including complex copyright matters
• Provide guidance on contractual terms, deal negotiations, and production clearances
• Navigate electronic databases to gather relevant rights information
• Support an enterprise initiative to improve rights acquisition and management across NBCUniversal
Basic Requirements:
• B.A., B.S., or higher degree
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Minimum 8 years of related experience in a comparable professional role
Desired Characteristics:
• Legal background (paralegal certificate or comparable work experience)
• Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues
• Experience in managing people or functions
• Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple high-priority tasks
• Proven problem-solving skills, initiative, and team collaboration
• Ability to handle changing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Workplace Requirements:
This position is hybrid, requiring at least three days in the office per week.
