Media Clearance Analyst

“What would you say you do here?”
• Works with the Clearance Team on legal clearance matters for a variety of assigned projects (e.g., film, series, or franchise) from pre-production to release as well as all ancillary clearances, including but not limited to advertising, marketing, and consumer products.
• Extensive research on trademarks, copyright, titles, fictitious characters/locations and artwork.
• Indexing, tracking and record keeping of media materials for various projects
• Careful analysis and record keeping of rights issues and acquisitions
• Manage advertising, promotions, marketing and consumer products restrictions for various projects
• Contacting third-party companies for rights and permissions requests
• Licensing stills and clips via third-party vendors
• Reviewing and flagging lyrics and music cues for our Music Clearance department
• Research, review, and analysis of parody and fair use
• Editorial research and analysis for our Franchise and Brand Development teams
• Daily liaise with productions, as well as other departments across the company
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
“What do I need to have in order to do this job?”
• 2 years of motion picture and/or television clearance experience. Animation experience preferred
• Must be able to handle a fast-paced working environment with quick turnaround requirements and tight production deadlines
• Must be highly proficient in Word, Excel, Google Docs and Gmail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail is a must
• Must possess strong research and analytical skills

Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-DreamWorks worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
