Summer Intern - Concessions Management Assistant

PAID INTERNSHIP
Summary: The Concession Stand Manager Assistant performs various functions related to the operation of the Concession Stand for all Sanford Mainers home games. This position helps facilitate efficient customer service in the areas of concession sales. This position is designed as an internship only and not a full-time job.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist Concession Stand Manager in the oversight of all operations of the concession stands.
• Works alongside volunteer staff schedule and assist in filling in cancellations or make-up dates.
• Assist in determine menu and pricing for the season.
• Assist in tracking inventory of concession stand items.
• Operate and maintain point-of-sale system to ensure accuracy of menu items and inventory
• Preparing menu items prior to the start of the game, including hot foods.
• Oversee other day-to-day operations of the concession stands, which may include:
• Opening procedures for stand operation
• Training volunteers to operate cash drawer as well as prepare food
• Close stand at event end
• Perform end of shift cash handling procedures. Ensure dual control is maintained in preparing cash deposits
• Ensure all concession areas have proper displays and merchandise.
• Create and support an efficient and enjoyable work environment. Back-up during busy times for concessions.
• Work closely with Concession Stand Manager for assistance with operations and volunteers.
• Maintain clean work area. Bring concerns and maintenance items to Concession Stand Manager.
• Responsible for working all Sanford Mainers home games (22 regular season games, plus any playoff games).

Other Details: Hours for this position may vary. This position is an internship only and is designed for students seeking a career in restaurant management, event management, or a similar industry. This position may involve occasional heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds. The holder of this position reports to the Concession Stand Manager. Must be available between the dates of June 1-August 15, 2025. This position is a paid position via a stipend to be determined. ServSafe certification is a bonus, but is not a requirement.
