Staff Editor - Hybrid/Local

New Rockstars™ a YouTube channel dedicated to unpacking the details of the internet's nerdy obsessions, is hiring a Staff Editor! In addition to familiarity with IP like Marvel, DC, and Star Wars, the ideal candidate will be very experienced with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Audition, a capable troubleshooter, and a self-starter. We push a lot of content out the door each week, so a keen attention-to-detail and a nose for potential issues are high priorities. Candidates must be in Los Angeles and available to be in office (Burbank) 3-4 times a week. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday 10am - 7pm PT, although the position requires a mix of work from office/home at the supervisor's discretion and the hours can vary based on what is required to complete each assignment.

Job responsibilities include:
Oversee and execute the completion of videos, brand spots, and assemblies
Assist in preparing our content for Off YouTube Distribution services
Keeping up with current IP that full company has flagged as essential
Assembling and editing multiple formats of content (solo hosted content, panel shows, ad spots)
Organize and distribute assets for freelance editing team
Occasionally monitoring remote and in-person recordings. Assisting technically as needed
Creating video thumbnails (via use of Adobe Photoshop)
Scheduling and publishing content on YouTube
Implementing notes and performing QC checks on outgoing videos

The ideal candidate will also:
Have 1-3 years of experience in digital/youtube editing
Have experience creating bespoke graphics in Adobe After Effects
Have interest in improving workflow processes
Have enthusiasm for nerdy properties

The position will start as a month-to-month contract with the option to become full time after further evaluation with the candidate and company.

Outside of your established working hours, we do occasionally work on weekends to cover big releases (i.e. Spider Man: No Way Home and other equivalent movies). Our WFH policies are continually revisited as the company evolves and grows. We currently operate as a hybrid office with staff coming in a few times a week.
