This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Primary Responsibilities:
• Looking to hire ASAP for this position, which requires a commitment through at least the end of the baseball season, with the possibility of extending through the end of the 2020 calendar year
• Compile and distribute news clippings pertaining to the New York Yankees, Yankee Stadium and baseball from all of New York metropolitan area newspapers, magazines and websites
• Maintain organize and complete files of all news clippings, briefs and stories involving all New York Yankees players, coaches and front office matters
• Amicably respond to requests from fans and members of the media involving questions about Yankees' history, statistical information, or other general matters that need attention
• Assist with editing and proofreading of major department publications, including the annual Media Information Guide
• Writing the organization's daily minor league report for the front office and coaching staff
• Organize and update files of various team publications, media guides, game notes, postgame notes and scorecards
• Assisting with non-baseball events held inside and out of Yankee Stadium, such as soccer, college football, concerts and community events
Qualifications:
• Ability to work up to 30 hours per week, including some early morning arrivals (approx. 6:00am) multiple times per week to compile clips packets.
• Prior experience working at a professional sports organization or a college sports information department preferred
• General baseball knowledge including ability to keep score and understand statistical information preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Experience using Adobe InDesign preferred
• Proven ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Flexible work schedule and ability to work in an outside stadium environment
