The Manager, Consumer Insights will be a member of Nickelodeon's Brand & Consumer Insights Team, supporting Nickelodeon's various lines of business with non-ratings based brand and consumer insights. This position will lead and assist on qualitative and quantitative research projects relating to brand, marketing and trends.
Overview & Responsibilities
• Assist with and handle qualitative and quantitative research projects, including research design, pre-planning and assets collection, vendor management, qualitative research moderation, data analysis, report writing, and dissemination/presentation of findings
• Participate in the fielding, analysis, and creation of quarterly brand tracking reports, which cover a wide range of linear and streaming competition to support marketing and programming for Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., and Paramount 's kids' portfolio
• Assist in the creation of larger custom decks on youth trends and trends forecasting, synthesizing both primary and secondary research findings
• Conduct and maintain tracking studies on key areas of business interest, including current events and social issues (supporting Nick News) and influencers (in support of consumer products)
• Collaborate across the larger consumer Insights team as the lead editor of an internally-distributed trend & insights newsletter
• Coordinate day-to-day management of Nickelodeon's online proprietary trendsetter panel
• Establish an ongoing library of current syndicated research resources and be the contact person for said resources
• Help in the migration of our brand tracking data onto an in-house dashboarding platform and in improving the potential use of said platform
• Work closely with the Consumer Insights Director to develop ideas and use consumer insights that help inform internal initiatives
• Supervise intern when applicable
• Assist with larger thought leadership projects as workload allows
Basic Qualifications
• Experience with primary research and writing surveys
• Comfortable analyzing complex data sets and telling compelling stories based on both qualitative and quantitative data
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines
• Strong oral and written communication, analytical and organizational skills
• Four year college degree
Additional Qualifications
• Keen interest in and knowledge of youth media and trends
• Exposure to focus groups; moderation experience a plus
• Ability to flex big picture thinking
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Out-of-the-box problem solver with a naturally curious spirit
• Experience within children category a plus
• Project management experience
• Experience in media (TV or digital) or consumer products
• Degree in communications, market research, business, psychology or social sciences graduate research work preferred
