Producer (Temporary)
Across our organization, we’re building a workplace where collaboration is essential, diverse voices are heard, and inclusion is the key to our success. We are committed to doing the right thing in our journalism and in every role at NPR. This means that integrity, adherence to our ethical standards, and compliance with legal obligations are fundamental responsibilities for every employee at NPR.
We need experienced producers who are flexible and multi-faceted, have creative ideas, and know how to work in collaboration with editors, hosts and reporters to craft compelling conversations, audio stories, programs and podcasts of varying length and complexity.
Specifically, we’re looking for producers who can work at NPR on a temporary basis. This could mean a short-term gig, a multi-month term, or multiple assignments.
It could also mean working in more than one division of NPR – from the broadcast magazine programs like Morning Edition and All Things Considered where your editorial judgment and ability to work under deadline pressure are key; to our longer-form narrative podcasts where your sound design skills will be invaluable; to our news-driven daily podcasts where you’ll be called upon to use both sets of skills.
Certain assignments will require on-site work at our Washington, DC headquarters, NY, or CA offices. In other roles, remote work will be permitted. Shifts will also vary based on the assignment.
