Art Director - Unreal Engine Short Series
Job Overview:
Manage and lead a team of 2D artists in creating and completing props, environment, and character visuals for an Unreal CG preschool series. The Art Director is a communication point between the technical, story, and asset departments, overseeing and shepherding the creation of delightful and high-quality 2D and 3D designs.
Location:
Glendale, CA
Hybrid Work Schedule (in office Tuesdays-Thursdays)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create art for series needs, including but not limited to; initial environment, prop, and character vis dev
- Provide written and drawn notes for 2D and CG art
- Work with the Director to ensure designs work for story needs
- Attend reviews with the Technical Director and Director to work inside Unreal Engine to achieve a cohesive visual look and feel
- Be available during work hours for meetings and communication
- Provide feedback and creative direction to 2D and CG asset teams
- Be available for discussions as needed with the visual creative team
- Train junior design staff on new technology and new software
- Take responsibility across all aspects: meeting project deadlines, supporting the creative team and fostering a collaborative environment among team members
Applicants must have:
- 5 years of experience in Animation, Games, or related industry
- 2 years of experience in Art Direction
- Excellent and strong eye for design and ability to match an existing visual style
- Proficient knowledge of Photoshop or similar design software
- Ability to successfully manage time, workflow, and schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of Unreal Engine software and its capabilities, including but not limited to; lighting and post-processing
- Basic understanding of Perforce and asset management processes
- Knowledge of Animate CC is a plus

Salary Range:
$2,700-$2,800/week
