Job Overview:
Manage and lead a team of CG artists in creating and completing props, environment, and character assets for an Unreal CG preschool series. The CG Asset Supervisor is a communication point between the technical, creative, and asset departments, overseeing and shepherding the creation of delightful and high-quality CG content.
Location:
Remote, Canada
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of CG asset artists, ensuring assets are completed on schedule with a high level of artistic quality
Lead asset reviews with the creative team
Work alongside Art Director and Creative Director to provide feedback to asset team, ensuring a cohesive look and feel across all CG assets
Work alongside the Technical Director to identify and address production issues and promote streamlined workflows with innovative solutions
Create documentation as needed for production, technical, and asset creation teams
Applicants must have:
5 years of experience in the Animation or Games Industry
2 years of experience in a leadership role
Demonstrate strong leadership, and effective verbal and written communication
Strong technical and creative understanding of a CG pipeline
3 years of experience with modeling, surfacing, fur and groom, and rigging within Unreal Engine 5.x
Project expertise working in Unreal Engine, and in-depth knowledge of its capabilities for use in animation production
5 years of experience using Maya, Substance Painter
2 years experience using Perforce in production for asset management in game and/or animation pipelines
3 years experience using Unreal's 5.x material node network system
Standards and practices for interactive / game pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of experience using Unreal's 5.x Lumen renderer
2 years of experience using Blender 3.x / 4.x
Knowledge of how to navigate and use Unreal's 5.x blueprint system
Basic understanding of how to use Unreal's console variables to achieve fixes/specific looks for assets.
Know how to optimize assets for in-engine integration
