This is a Full Time Job
OutKick is looking for a talented, organized, and highly motivated Associate Producer with strong editorial judgment and a firm grasp of sports, culture, and the intersection with politics. As an Associate Producer, you will write, copy edit, and fact-check scripts, produce segments, produce packages, make graphics, and write banners under intense deadline pressure for all digital and streaming platforms. You will manage the production around a range of topics from sports to culture to politics.
In this role, you will pitch and execute interesting angles that drive conversations. You will be asked to weigh in on the day of the news while also working on longer-term projects. You must have a strong understanding of digital and streaming media and be able to integrate content across all platforms. You will also need to be extremely well-organized and willing to take care of all logistics for production and talent. This role requires you to be a self-starter who will work both independently and collaboratively with strong talent who value teamwork and success.
This position reports to the Outkick.com Senior Producer.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in daily team meetings to develop strategies to produce shows that will drive the national sports and pop culture conversation
• Help book for multiple daily shows streamed on Outkick.com and hosted by Outkick.com personalities
• Handle research for a variety of topics
• Generate daily story ideas and help execute and produce your ideas and others on the streaming shows
• Proofread and fact-check scripts and show elements for accuracy
• Conduct pre-interviews and in-depth research on a wide range of topics
• Work closely and collaboratively with other show team members
• Work to maximize our content across streaming, website, and social platforms
• Produce content from the shows for the Outkick.com website and social media channels
• Organize rundowns, Write scripts/copy as needed
• Create graphics elements for the show
• Field produce with the ability to shoot, write, and edit packages for air
• Use video, graphics, and sound bites to help illustrate stories
• Keep a sharp eye out for flag-breaking/trending News headlines from a host of sources
• Identify click-worthy clips to be cut down from daily broadcasts and work with social producers/editors to distribute
• Assist with Organizing and executing remote shoots/productions
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of newsroom experience
• 3-5 + years of professional experience
• Thorough knowledge of and passion for sports, culture, and where they meet politics
• Strong editorial judgment
• Ability to create compelling graphics for air
• Fast and accurate writing
• Firm knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop
• Excellent organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in an environment where you and most may be remote
• Attention to detail and ability to work under intense pressure while meeting multiple daily deadlines
• A desire to grow and perform beyond expectations
• Flexible schedule which may include mornings, nights as well as some weekend days and holidays

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $61,000.00-70,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
