We are hiring a Broadcast Maintenance technician that will be responsible for the overall Broadcast System’s health. This will include LATX Transmission electronics (receive and transmit), Broadcast Production equipment, Postproduction Broadcast equipment, On-Air Broadcast Integration systems (ViacomCBS and ViacomCBS Sports), Broadcast computer systems, Firewall Servers, FTP Servers, Media Storage, Streaming Servers, Ethernet Switches/Routers/Gateways, and Broadcast Systems I/O electronics.
Basic Qualifications
• 3 years' experience working as a Television Broadcast Engineer, or equivalent involving Post Production Systems, and On-Air Commercial Integration Systems, and Satellite Uplink/Downlink systems.
• In depth knowledge of broadcast devices and systems, such as Satellite IRDs, Frame Syncs, Video Processors, Routing and Monitoring systems which use a computer-based IT infrastructure.
• Ability to manage and maintain systems that support incoming live sporting events, including communications systems and production truck connectivity. Skilled in configuring and repairing satellite systems, earth station electronics, including uplink signal encoders, VANC encoders, modulators, and RF routers. Experienced in C Band satellite downlink electronics, IRDs, signal processors, amplifiers, MATV system modulators, and MATV STB receivers.
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelor's in electrical engineering or other technical degree is preferred.
• IT certifications are a plus; Cisco Training, CCNA, Network , Linux, and AWS.
• Knowledge of computer-based systems; PC, MAC, and Linux.
• Ability to configure Avaya and Cisco Ethernet Switches.
• Ability to fix electronic equipment to the component (hardware/software) level or module, interaction with equipment manufacturer to correct problems.
• Demonstrated capability to work autonomously when required and seamlessly collaborate with fellow engineering peers as part of a cohesive team is crucial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in the setup and management of Video Streaming systems and Cloud compute/storage systems, with expertise in provisioning AWS / Azure Compute and Storage. Possess knowledge to configure IP rules and application firewalls.
• Skilled in configuring and repairing Postproduction equipment, including Avid Media Composer, Avid Nexus Media Storage, Avid Postproduction systems, and Adobe Premiere.
• Experienced in the configuration and repair of On-Air Commercial Integration systems, covering electronics and software. Capable of deploying computer drivers/software, conducting system data backup and recovery, and maintaining and patching automation control systems.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $118,773.72 - 126,007.44.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
