Job Summary:
PBS Wisconsin seeks an Executive Producer (EP) to lead our Cultural Affairs team. Join award-winning producer-directors in creating broadcast and digital programs through studio, mobile truck, and field production. The role involves producing live and post-produced performing arts content that highlights Wisconsin's diverse communities. Required skills include producing-directing experience with multi-camera and multimedia production, leadership, creative vision, and strong communication. This role does not involve on-camera hosting. Reporting to the Director of Production, the EP will strategically plan and manage complex projects with community partners, meeting deadlines and project goals.
Responsibilities:
50% Leadership for broadcast/digital content, strategic planning, evaluation, coaching, goal-setting, and production coordination
5% Administration (guest booking, scheduling, budget management)
20% Supervises hosts, producers, reporters, and support staff, filling in as needed
10% Liaison with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating from pre- to post-production
20% Leads editorial planning, generates ideas for segments, shows, and digital projects
10% Supervisory authority (hiring, transferring, performance management, etc.)
15% Directs live and recorded productions, leading studio and remote teams

Education:
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Communication Arts, Video Production, or related field
Qualifications:
Required
4+ years of professional video production experience, multi-camera productions
Strong project management and strategic planning skills
Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, budget/timeline management
Excellent written and verbal communication
Preferred
Performing arts production experience
Media and music rights clearance experience
Broadcast programming for fundraising initiatives
Social media best practices
Collaboration with community partners
Knowledge of Wisconsin's arts and culture diversity

Hybrid position based in Madison, WI; includes on-site work and occasional statewide travel
Appointment Type and Duration:
Ongoing/Renewable
Salary:
Minimum: $80,000 annually (12 months)
Expected range: $80,000 - $88,000 based on qualifications
Additional Information:
Regular travel within Wisconsin is required, including evenings, weekends, and overnights. Authorized drivers receive mileage reimbursement per UW policies.
