Are you passionate about the music industry and excited to explore the world of music publishing? Join us for an enriching Publishing Administration internship with a vibrant independent music publisher! This in-person internship requires a commitment of two days a week, specifically on Tuesdays and Thursdays. College credit is available.
What You'll Do:
• Gain hands-on experience and develop a comprehensive understanding of music licensing and publishing processes.
• Collect and organize essential product information, including label copy and promotional materials.
• Conduct research to verify songwriter and publisher ownership splits for various songs, ensuring accurate royalty distribution.
• Manage catalog playlists and ensure accurate metadata within DISCO, enhancing the accessibility of our music library.
• Organize and maintain the company's digital music library, ensuring all assets are correctly tagged and easily retrievable.
• Assist with office operations, including responding to inquiries, supporting administrative tasks, and coordinating team meetings.
• Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and insights on industry trends and project updates.
• Support the licensing team by preparing documents and materials needed for negotiations and contract management.
• Engage in special projects as assigned, providing an opportunity to explore different facets of music publishing.
Who You Are:
• A college student or recent graduate eager to gain valuable insights and experience in the music industry.
• Detail-oriented with strong data entry and organizational skills.
• Committed to thorough due diligence and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
• Familiarity with copyright and composition administration is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Tech-savvy, with experience in database management and asset requests/delivery.
