We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lighting Technician to assist Arena Technology team members with the setup, operation and maintenance of the Arena theatrical lighting system for all Suns and Mercury games, and special events as needed.
What You Will Do:
• Operate console for basketball games and special events
• Perform routine inspection, maintenance and upkeep on lights, spotlights, console, and catwalk equipment
• Coordinate installation, operation, removal and storage as needed for special events
• Assist Arena Technology department with event setup, operation and strike of all events
• Other duties assigned as related to the position
What We Need From Our Lighting Technician:
• Familiarity with GrandMA3 console
• Strong Understanding of DMX, signal flow, and basic networking
• Basic knowledge of theatrical electrical and rigging systems
• Ability to perform basic maintenance on lighting systems
• Understanding of live events, especially sports
• Strong ability to manage your time
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow detailed directions/instructions and lighting queues
Experience/ Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of industry experience required
• Completion of rigging and/or electrical safety training preferred

• Ability to transit throughout the arena for long periods of time.
• This position works mainly indoors, removed from extreme weather; exposure to weather is <5%
• S-Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
• Must be able to carry on a conversation both on the phone and in-person.
