The Film Finance Lead will play an integral strategic and management role on a Pixar Feature Film and within Pixar's Production Finance group, reporting to the Director of Production Finance, with a dotted line to the Producer of the film. The Production Finance Lead will drive the financial budgeting and operational planning related to the film and help drive the operational strategy of the studio as a whole.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage all financial aspects of a film and its related ancillary projects in production, including budgeting, scheduling, cost tracking, and strategic planning
• Leverage strategic thinking and project management skills to support producer, associate producer and production manager in achieving optimal resource deployment, effective milestone development and tracking, and successful film completion
• Design, build, and continually improve analytical reports and tracking tools used for reporting and analysis as needed by the film's producer, associate producer, production manager and department managers
• Create ''film update'' agendas and presentations (for presentation to Pixar executives, producers, and department managers) that periodically summarize current production status as compared to prior films and internal quotas and plans, analyze key issues and highlight any current or forward-looking areas of concern with respect to completion of the film, on time and on budget
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the production analyst assigned to the film. Act as both direct supervisor and mentor to the production analyst to ensure his/her performance meets expectations and evolves based on the analyst's unique experience level and professional goals
• Support VP, Finance and Strategy in a variety of cross-functional, studio-wide strategic projects that extend beyond the scope of the particular feature film
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA or BS degree or equivalent
• CPA and/or MBA
• 3-5 years of prior work experience, preferably with a top-tier business consulting firm or media/entertainment company
• Advanced MS Excel skills a must
• Excellent analytical, organizational and forecasting skills
• Familiarity with Tableau, R, or other data visualization/analysis software
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and to drive projects to timely completion
• Capacity to thrive in a creative, dynamic, results-oriented environment, and to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once
• A passion for the entertainment industry, especially in animation and media-related technology
