Unreal Engine Software Developer (6-month contract)
The Innovation Labs division at Pixomondo is at the forefront of creating and supporting the technology used by our artistic teams and the software infrastructure essential for a global, multi-site studio managing multiple concurrent VP projects. From pre-production to production and post-production phases, we grapple with complex challenges while pushing the boundaries of what can be done by hundreds of artists producing thousands of shots and shared assets within Pixomondo and Sony.
As a Software Developer specializing in Unreal Engine, your role is pivotal in shaping how we harness Unreal's capabilities to meet the diverse demands of Virtual Production, VFX, LBE and TV production.
The Real-time software development team is tasked with seamlessly integrating Unreal into PXO's workflow and collaborating with production stakeholders and other members of the Technology team to devise efficient workflows and pioneering technologies that maximize our production processes.
Requirements
• A strong grasp of Unreal Engine, from Blueprints to core C++ modules
• Strong modern C++ skills (C++17/20)
• Proficiency in modern Python and relevant frameworks and libraries.
• Familiarity with source control systems and collaborative development, git and perforce.
• Proficiency in both Linux and Windows operating systems
• Proactive and self-driven work ethic, comfortable in an agile environment with multiple priorities
Desirable qualifications:
• Strong Linear Algebra skills
• Experience with modern Graphics APIs such as D3D12 and Vulkan
• Experience profiling, debugging and optimizing GPU and CPU code
• Familiarity with shading languages HLSL/GLSL
• Experience with integrating hardware / software APIs and common communication protocols
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equal industry experience
Your responsibilities will include:
• Integrating Unreal with Pixomondo's new innovations and platforms..
• Executing low-level rendering enhancements and performance optimizations.
• Serving as the technical liaison for Unreal-related matters to the Innovation Lab department.
• Engaging in collaborative efforts with project stakeholders in an agile development setting.
• Working with fellow developers in the RealtimeTechnology team to maximize the use of Unreal.
• Creating technical documentation and workflow guides to assist both artists and developers.
• Thoroughly validating your work through systematic and comprehensive testing.
• Swiftly and efficiently addressing bug reports and support requests.
