Come and be a part of Amazon's dynamic Live Sports Production Team! We are looking for an experienced Principal Prod Ops Manager to oversee Production Operations of live sporting events.
The Production Operations team is responsible for delivering high quality event productions on all global live sports properties to customers worldwide, across all Prime Video product lines and devices. We also support our productions through process improvements, scalability, and various initiatives. We work on designing solutions (tools and mechanisms) to manage and support productions globally so our team can work more efficiently and continue to scale.
This role will be a mix of production, field operations and program management. The Principal Prod Ops Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing various rights properties from the scoping stage (during the pre-bid phase), through the budgeting and operational design, and launch. You will be responsible for modeling the production scopes and administering RFP launches and vendor selection for Production Service Partners (PSP). You will drive how we engage third-party PSPs for production and technical services defining the scope of work, deliverables, service levels, budget, and work with BA/BD/Legal on the contract terms. You will be responsible for managing and scaling operations and assessing cost standards that may impact the budget or production roadmap. You will evaluate current productions and operational impacts on events and develop mechanisms to improve execution on re-starts or new property launches year-over-year.
As the Principal Prod Ops Manager, you are also responsible for leading the end-to-end production launch readiness roadmap for the entire production team and will define milestones to ensure timely delivery of the event. Principal Prod Ops Managers assume the responsibility of organizational interdependencies with other teams (e.g., Legal, Production Finance, Business Affairs, Business Development, Accounting, Tax, Risk and other corporate stakeholders) to ensure business continuity for event launch.
The successful candidate is a self-starter and possesses the ability to complete high volumes of complex tasks and projects quickly, and reacts with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require immediate response and turnaround. The candidate has a proven track record taking on end-to-end ownership, and is effective at delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. The candidate will be able to issue spot, drive decision making, and escalate matters that have risk impact.
The candidate has deep knowledge and experience in broadcast production, with a strong business acumen in various formats; live telecasts, shoulder programming, specialty content. High level competency and experience with overall production processes including: production company management, budgeting, and complex problem solving across multiple departments. Experience launching, operating, managing, and delivering results in a live sports production operations leadership role. Proven track record working on international and large scale productions and relationships with media partners. Contract experience defining service requirements ensuring commercial terms are captured in contracts and statements of work. Strong experience working cross functionally leading and earning trust with multiple stakeholders across various departments through written and verbal communication.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of a project launch or property re-start, gathering business requirements, implementing workstreams, and developing milestones and launch schedule to ensure successful delivery of event
- Model and build budgets, managing production costs for various properties, including forecasting and variance analysis
- Oversee production operations of on-site event production including Health & Safety, risk management, and vendor relationships; work with internal departments, internal leadership and production companies on production safety, security, insurance, immigration, visa, travel, and tax issues
- Own, manage and run WBR meetings, tracking projects and keeping all stakeholders aware of changes to project status ensuring alignment
- Drive synergy with stakeholder teams including legal, business affairs, business development, production finance, accounting, and other global operations teams to create, implement and improve new and existing processes

Qualifications
• 10 years of producer, production manager or line producer experience
• 10 years of budgeting, scheduling and cost reporting experience
• Experience with a variety of digital workflows
Salary/Benefits
$152,500.00 - 252,200.00 per year
