We are looking for an Acting Senior Vice President, Distribution based in the New York City, USA.
This role is a 6 month remote contract with the potential to be extended.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the EVP of Distribution, you will be responsible for further developing our business in the USA. You will find new buyers (TV and/or VOD) and expand existing relationships.
You will close deals with TV broadcasters and VOD platforms for the commissioning of Original TV movies; you will pitch them projects, discuss the business deal and liaise with the creative and production teams at Reel One to satisfy buyers' needs.
You will also actively sell the TV movies in the Reel One catalogue.
Main Responsibilities:
Source, contact and sign new buyers (TV broadcasters and VOD platforms) that will commission Original TV movies from us.
Be the liaison between the client and the creative and production teams, maximizing revenue and production quality
Expand our existing relationships with TV broadcasters and VOD platforms, with the intention of growing our business with them.
License our content across all rights and platforms, including traditional TV broadcasters and new VOD platforms
Strategically position rights in the most profitable way
Be in regular contact with customers, attend key TV markets, plus regular individual trips to meet clients locally, in person
Research and keep ahead of the fast-changing TV landscape, using industry news articles, contacts in your network etc. to be able to identify and target suitable partners for our content (keeping ahead of launches, new media etc.)
Provide territory forecasts
Provide weekly report on deal cycle status and potential clients
Achieve annual sales targets
Who you are:
The ideal candidate will have :
Proven record of getting new content commissioned in the USA,
Experience with arranging creative and production teams to satisfy clients needs, within specific budget parameters.
At least 10 years of experience in a relevant sales media role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A driven and proactive personality - an ability to elicit responses from busy buyers
Ability to liaise easily with international internal departments, especially the UK licensing team
Ability to work through complex rights
Available to travel across the USA
