As we grow, we are looking for a Head of Finance to establish and lead our financial strategy from the ground up. Our ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader who can navigate the complexities of the entertainment industry, manage day-to-day financial operations, and help us scale responsibly.
Job Overview:
The Head of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing and managing our financial records, cash flow, budgeting, and loan management. This role demands an experienced professional adept at navigating the unique financial needs of the entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with accounting principles, maintain accurate financial records, assist with budgeting for future projects, and provide insights to guide our financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Strategy & Planning:
Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company's growth, including financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Accounting & Financial Operations:
Set up and manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing insights and recommendations for leadership.
• Fundraising & Investor Relations:
Collaborate with leadership on fundraising efforts, including preparing financial statements, managing investor communications, and ensuring compliance with financing agreements.
• Budget Management:
Oversee project-specific budgets, working closely with leadership to track expenses and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Loan Structuring & Management:
Lead financial structuring and repayment planning for loans, optimizing cash flow to support ongoing projects.
• Tax Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, overseeing tax preparation and filing.
Qualifications:
• Experience:
5+ years in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the entertainment or creative industries, with experience in building financial systems from the ground up.
• Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus.
• Skills:
Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Excel; experience with entertainment finance software is a plus.
• Knowledge:
Deep understanding of entertainment finance, production budgets, tax credits, and fundraising for creative projects.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset:
Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and build processes in a fast-paced, growing environment.
• Communication:
Strong communicator capable of conveying financial insights to both creative and operational stakeholders.
