Job Overview:
The Accountant/Bookkeeper will play a critical role in overseeing and managing our financial records, cash flow, budgeting, and loan management. This role demands an experienced professional adept at navigating the unique financial needs of the entertainment industry. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with accounting principles, maintain accurate financial records, assist with budgeting for future projects, and provide insights to guide our financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Maintain and oversee accounts, ledgers, and financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Work closely with the CEO to develop budgets for upcoming projects and track spending against budgets.
Loan Management: Oversee the financial structuring and repayment plans for loans, ensuring optimal cash flow.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Handle day-to-day accounting tasks including invoicing, tracking payments, and processing payroll.
Tax Preparation & Compliance: Prepare and file tax documents and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines.
Financial Reporting: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for review by CEO.
Project Cost Analysis: Monitor and analyze project-related expenses, providing insights and recommendations to manage costs effectively.
Financial Strategy: Provide strategic financial advice to guide decision-making for investments, project funding, and cash flow management.
Requirements:
Experience: 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in the entertainment or media industry.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or other relevant certification is a plus).
Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel. Familiarity with entertainment accounting software is a bonus.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of entertainment-specific financial management, tax credits, production budgeting, and loan structuring.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial management and reporting.
Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with CEO, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
