Role Overview:
The Vice President of Marketing will lead the strategic vision and execution of all marketing efforts for an emerging boutique production and distribution company, overseeing film campaigns that drive audience engagement, brand positioning, and film promotion in out of the box ways. This role is perfect for a highly creative, data-driven, and innovative leader with a deep passion for all arts including film and music and an appetite to innovate on traditional film distribution marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies: Lead marketing efforts across the entire film lifecycle, from long-lead planning and in-production phases to theatrical/digital release and post-launch engagement.
Digital Campaign Leadership: Design and implement multi-stage digital marketing campaigns, leveraging bespoke tactics tailored to each film to create organic audience engagement; tactics ranging from short-form asset creation, influencer/media partnerships, community/organization partnerships, experiential activations, as well as paid media strategies.
Creative Asset Development: Oversee all digital and social marketing assets, including trailers, posters, websites, interactive experiences, and custom content collaborations.
Talent & Influencer Marketing: Manage digital publicity strategies, working with talent, influencers, and digital outlets to create buzzworthy activations.
Strategic Partnerships & Innovation: Develop first-to-market programs with platforms and brands to maximize ROI and earned media potential.
Agency & Vendor Management: Oversee the RFP process, select top-tier agency partners, and ensure seamless execution of campaign activations.
Cross-Department Integration: Work closely with creative advertising, media, publicity, research, multicultural, data, partnerships, and other internal teams to ensure marketing efforts are fully integrated.
International & Home Entertainment Coordination: Collaborate with global teams to align digital marketing efforts across theatrical, streaming, and home entertainment releases.
Performance Tracking & Optimization: Leverage data and audience insights to measure campaign success and refine marketing strategies for future releases.
Key Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 8+ years in film/music, entertainment, or media marketing, with a focus on digital and full-scale campaign execution.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of film marketing, distribution models (theatrical, streaming, digital), and emerging audience engagement tactics.
Strategic & Creative Leadership: Proven ability to develop innovative, buzz-worthy campaigns that drive awareness and commercial success.
Strong Agency & Partnership Management: Experience leading RFP processes, selecting agencies, and managing vendor relationships.
Project Management Skills: Experience juggling multiple film campaigns, timelines, and budgets in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent Communication & Leadership: Strong ability to present ideas and collaborate with key stakeholders.
Expectations & Work Structure
Location: New York City or Los Angeles
Salary: $150k-200k + Competitive Bonus (DPE)
