This is a Full Time Job
The Assistant Athletic Trainer, under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Sacramento Kings training room and provide athletic training duties to ensure the peak health and readiness of Kings players. This includes but is not limited to preparing athletes for practices and games; performing first aid and acute injury/illness care; maintaining proper medical, injury, and treatment records; collaborating with colleagues to execute performance programming and rehabilitation protocols; and partnering with the Head Athletic Trainer to report on player health and readiness to the coaching staff and front office. As a member of a high-performing team spanning athletic training, physical therapy, strength and conditioning, nutrition services, and performance psychology, the Assistant Athletic trainer will be expected to adopt a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRA's):
• Perform athletic training procedures on players including preventative treatment, taping, bandaging, and acute injury/illness care, during training and games
• Act as players' point of contact for medical appointment scheduling and Basketball Operations liaison to Kings' and outside medical providers
• Partner with the strength and conditioning staff in preparing the team for practice and games
• Assist with assessing and screening players according to department principles and standards as established by the Head Athletic Trainer
• Keep current and comprehensive electronic records of player injuries/illnesses and treatments on the team's electronic medical records software
• Initiate and conduct regular verbal and electronic communication on athlete readiness and availability to coaches, front office, and other members of the Sports Medicine and Performance Group
• Plan and schedule player physicals
• Order and maintain training room inventory of medical supplies
• Occasionally travel to players in the off-season to provide athletic training services for off-season training programs
• Act as a medical liaison between the Sacramento and Stockton Kings
Qualifications:
• Proven track record of outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or related field, postgraduate degree preferred
• At least 2-5 years of experience as an athletic trainer with an NBA team
• Competency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs and the NBA's Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
• Certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
• State Athletic Training Licensure
• Current CPR and first aid training
Other:
• The position requires unconventional hours and regular travel both in and out of season and frequent work outside of normal business hours to ensure all deadlines and responsibilities are met

Compensation:
The expected annual base salary for this exempt role is $65,000 - $90,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
