The Meryl Streep Center for Performing Artists (opening Summer 2024) at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation in Los Angeles seeks a friendly and professional Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for SAG-AFTRA members and guests. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. As the face of the center, the Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing a welcoming and positive experience for all visitors, aligning with the mission and values of the Foundation.
Responsibilities
-Greet and welcome members and visitors with warmth and professionalism
-Check-in members for programs, classes, and sessions and notify appropriate staff members
-Answer and direct incoming calls efficiently and courteously, handling a high volume of calls daily
-Taking messages and ensuring they are passed to the appropriate staff member
-Provide accurate information about our programs, services, and events
-Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages
-Upload daily program schedule and manage content for on-site digital displays
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
-Assist with administrative tasks and projects, including data entry, filing, and scheduling appointments
-Provide a high level of hospitality and customer service while handling member relations positively and professionally
-Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional experiences for all visitors of the center
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree preferred
-Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels
-Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
-Ability to multitask and independently prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
-Proficiency in G Suite, Microsoft Office, AirTable, and basic office equipment
-Some technical skills are a plus
-Passion for the performing arts and a commitment to supporting artists' needs
-Punctuality and reliability
