Job Title: Executive Director, Colorado & New Mexico Locals
Location: Colorado & New Mexico
Description:
The Executive Director, Colorado & New Mexico Locals is responsible for managing all aspects of the Locals’ operations. This includes overseeing administration, communications, budgeting, governance, organizing and member outreach efforts, as well as legislative advocacy and policy implementation. The Executive Director supports collective bargaining initiatives, assists with enforcing contracts covering various media, and works closely with local boards, leadership, and industry stakeholders to further the strategic mission.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the administration, budgeting, governance, and general operations for the Colorado and New Mexico Locals.
• Assist in administering and enforcing union collective bargaining agreements in television, commercials, film, interactive games, and related media.
• Participate in national organizing campaigns and negotiations of collective bargaining agreements under senior staff direction.
• Coordinate and support Local Board meetings, provide clear reporting, and ensure compliance with constitutions, policies, and procedures.
• Guide and support member leadership, develop policies, procedures, outreach efforts, and leadership training programs.
• Foster relationships with internal departments and external industry partners to advance strategic objectives.
• Collaborate on projects and initiatives with the Locals Operations Department and other groups.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years management/supervisory experience.
• Advanced leadership and managerial skills.
• Understanding of negotiations, collective bargaining, and dispute mediation.
• Strong communication (oral and written) and consultative abilities.
• High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in PC applications, internet-based systems; familiarity with publications and social media.
• Availability for extended hours, weekends, holidays, and travel as required.
Education & Additional Requirements:
• Required: Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: Experience in labor negotiations, union organizing, or non-profit administration; familiarity with the entertainment industry; Juris Doctor or advanced labor relations degree a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, automobile, and current auto insurance meeting state requirements.
