Generalist (Lighting Focus)
We are seeking a talented and versatile Generalist Artist with a strong focus on lighting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in visual effects production, with proficiency in 3ds Max and a bonus if experienced with Houdini. Knowledge of VRay as a render engine is highly desirable. If you have a passion for lighting, environments and working with shaders, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the creative team to understand project requirements and artistic vision
• Create and implement high-quality lighting setups that enhance the mood, atmosphere, and realism of CG scenes
• Solid understanding of lighting principles, color theory, and composition
• Work with 3D assets, textures, and shaders to achieve realistic and visually compelling lighting effects
• Optimize lighting setups for rendering efficiency without compromising quality
• Maintain consistency in lighting quality and style across shots and sequences
• Work closely with other artists to integrate CG elements seamlessly into live-action footage
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve lighting issues to achieve desired visual effects
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the VFX industry
• Proficiency in 3ds Max, with a strong understanding of lighting principles and techniques
• Familiarity with compositing software such as Nuke is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of CG environments and shaders
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines without compromising quality
• Knowledge of Houdini is a plus
• Experience with VRay as a render engine
$92,000 - $134,000 a year
This salary range is specific to applicants applying to our position in Vancouver, BC. To determine your base salary, we consider your qualifications, skills, and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary outside of this range and will also be dependent on your location.
