Connecticut based theatrical scene shop is looking for an individual to help maintain and manage its rental stock theatrical equipment including chain motors, winches, and truss. The applicant must be a self-starter, have an attention to detail, and be able to lift 75 lbs. This is an hourly position with health and retirement benefits. Additional job requirements are listed below. Pay is based on experience.
• Be able to use Microsoft Access
• Ability to code in VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) a plus
• Maintain the database of rental equipment.
• Manage the onsite chain motor technician
• Prepare the winch prep sheets based upon the axis list generated on a per show basis
• Prepare Check In/Out sheets for all equipment either leaving or being returned to the rental building.
• Responsible for ensuring all necessary rigging equipment and chain motors for shows has been prepared. A list will be provided by the Director of Automation.
• Perform quality control on all standard winch, chain motor, and rigging equipment that leaves the rental building.
• Keep an accurate inventory of all rental equipment in the rental building and out on any running shows
• Work with Director of Automation to place purchase orders to ensure an adequate stock of necessary spare and commonly used parts for stock equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly workspace at the rental building.
• Manage the operations of the rental facility at 950 Bridgeport Ave. This includes trucks loading/unloading, pulling of stock equipment, and overseeing the chain motor technician.
